Alcon taps Richard Ingber

Names veteran president of worldwide marketing

Warner Bros.-based Alcon Entertainment has hired motion picture marketing executive Richard Ingber as its president of worldwide marketing.

The move comes on the heels of Alcon's raising new production financing totaling $550 million as well as extending its overall distribution deal with Warner Bros. for an additional five years and 15 feature films.

Ingber already was working as a consultant with Alcon on its upcoming August release "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2," the sequel to the Alcon-financed and produced romantic comedy released by Warners in 2005.

Ingber, working in conjunction with Warners' marketing department, previously led Alcon's campaigns for such recent releases as the romantic comedy "P.S. I Love You," starring Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler, "One Missed Call," "16 Blocks," "Racing Stripes," "Insomnia" and "My Dog Skip."

Ingber, a 20-year marketing and distribution veteran, has worked at Columbia, Fox, Disney and Largo Entertainment.

He formed the marketing consulting company Richard Ingber Entertainment in 1998, working with filmmakers and studios' marketing and distribution divisions to create comprehensive campaigns for titles. The company also developed behind-the-scenes creative content, which included electronic press kits, DVD extra content, viral Internet videos and television specials.
